Part P CPS Qualification Requirements Delayed

The Electrotechnical Assessment Specification Management Committee (EAS) has agreed to delay the implementation of the new Qualified Supervisors technical competence requirements until 6 April 2013, to align with anticipated revisions to Part P of the Building Regulations (England and Wales).

It is expected that the new level 3 qualification will become available by June 2012. In order to align with changes likely to occur regarding Part P of the Buildings Regulations (England and Wales), the committee has now agreed that the new requirements will come into effect on 6 April 2013.

This means the current requirements for all operatives to hold a 17th Editon Wiring Regulations qualification and to demonstrate practical competence on-site still remain in force. Logic Certification is in the process of updating its Part P training and assessment documentation in line with the 2011 amendments to BS7671:2008.
