We have launched two new Level 3 Gas Auditing qualifications. One qualification has been designed for gas engineers responsible for auditing gas work, in order to check it is safe and has been carried out correctly - a particular requirement for social housing properties. The second Gas Auditing qualification is specifically for businesses that carry out audits of their own or other businesses operations as part of their work management procedures.

We're half way through Gas Safety Week, the annual event intended to raise awareness of Gas Safety for end users, and a great opportunity to remind the installers training at Logic Certification centres about the importance of keeping their Gas ACS qualifications up to date.
Advance information on new gas safety regulations
Following a lengthy period of consultation throughout 2016 and 2017, The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has updated its Approved Code of Practice (ACOP); setting out regulations around the installation and servicing of gas appliances. We’ve been given access to a draft version of the new L56 guidance document, which, subject to parliamentary approval, will come in to effect from 6th April 2018.

The Hot Water Industry Council’s consumer guide to boiler servicing
In order to address current concerns about the standard of work carried out by some gas installers, the Heating and Hot Water Industry Council (HHIC) has published a leaflet aimed at consumers, laying out what they should expect when they are having their gas boiler serviced by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
Important updates to ACS regulations and codes of practice
At the end of 2018 there were some important updates to domestic ACS assessments covering changes to the Gas Safety Regulations and standards. In addition, the guidance to the ACS scheme rules have been amended and now stipulate that newly qualified learners need to gain at least 6 months’ experience on the Gas Safe Register before they extend or the scope of their professional work.
Industry improvements to gas training receive parliamentary approval
Following widespread concerns about the consistency and quality of gas training delivery in the UK and fears that the current minimum standards might not be fit for purpose, the Government set up a Parliamentary Inquiry last year to investigate whether a fundamental rethink was necessary, to improve the regulatory framework around training standards for gas engineers.
