Qualifying Supervisor update

The requirements for joining a Part P Competent Persons Scheme (CPS) were due to change on the 6th April, with Qualifying Supervisors needing the new QCF qualification: Level 3 NVQ Certificate in Installing, Testing and Ensuring Compliance of Electrical Installation Work in Dwellings, or similar.

 

 

 

Lack of Part P enforcement puts lives at risk

Trade association NAPIT has called for the government and industry to ensure action is taken to improve electrical safety in homes, following a damning report by the Electrical Safety Roundtable (ESR), which revealed poor enforcement of Part P of the Building Regulations across the UK’s local authorities.

Part P: a must for building services installers in 2016

Part P was introduced on January 1st 2005; a move by government to introduce electrical safety rules into Building Regulations for England and Wales, defining the minimum standards for electrical safety with a domestic premises.
