Logic Certification has launched a new
Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) only course, meeting
customer demand for training in the heat pump most relevant to the
majority of installers and end users. A QCF Level 3 qualification,
the course meets the latest MCS requirements.
Air source and ground source heat pumps (GSHP) are usually covered in one course, but, as many installers do not go on to deliver GSHPs; a technology best suited to large domestic properties with extensive land and customers with a sizeable budget; we decided to give trainees the option of choosing the heat pump most relevant to their business, making best use of their time and money.
Launched just in time for the introduction of the domestic
Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), the new three day
Air Source Heat Pump QCF Level 3 qualification will focus
solely at the specification, survey, design and installation of
domestic and small commercial ASHPs.
The new course covers systems with a designed heat output up to
45kWth and includes:
- Regulations and guidance
- Principles of ASHP operation
- Collector types and heat distribution
- Design and sizing
- Pre-installation requirements
- Materials and methods
- Commissioning, servicing and fault-finding
The new course is also covered by the RHI raining Support Voucher
scheme, meaning installers can get a sizeable discount off
the cost. Many Logic Certification centres are
approved locations to redeem these vouchers. Funding is
running out fast - visit www.rhitraining.co.uk to
apply.
