Logic Certification has been working alongside BEAMA to potentially develop a new electrical qualification in relation to the growing market for Smart Meters and their control devices.
We (LCL and BEAMA) want to know what you think and would welcome your input via the survey link below.
Information from BEAMA:
"The BEAMA Connected Homes group is leading a skills initiative to develop some agreed minimum competencies for installers in the sector. BEAMA has had some initial meetings with technology companies and some external training bodies but are now looking to seek views from training and qualification organisations in the UK with the objective to build a better understanding of what is already out in the market for connected homes and installers.
"The document Click here to download provides some background to this work. BEAMA members have been saying for a while that for a mass market for connected homes products to develop we will need more installers capable of understanding networks devices etc, but also able to understand the customer benefits of such technologies.
"We therefore hope to develop as an output of this work, an industry agreed module for training installers in the basic skill sets for connected homes devices already available on the market today. Beama would be aiming to therefore inform a nationally recognised qualification through an Ofqual recognised Awarding Organisation.
"Beama would really appreciate your response as this is an important element of the work. Respondents will be invited to participate in follow up work which will include a workshop in the autumn."
Your assistance in helping Beama would be very helpful and we hope to work with them in the future to develop this course and qualification.
