Background:

This regulated qualification is for learners with an electrical background that wish to demonstrate their knowledge at “Level 2” for the In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment in the UK. This qualification covers both portable and fixed appliances and is based on the IET Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment 5th Edition and is aligned to BS7671.

The qualification provides under pinning knowledge to comply with current legislation and the new requirements laid out in the code of practice and is designed for both operatives and managers of premises and employee’s.

“Levels 1” and “Level 2” as defined in the CoP 5th Edition.

Pre-requisites:

Although there are no formal pre-requisites to this qualification but it is recommended that candidates should have suitable knowledge of electrical theory and ideally be working within the electrical or a related industry. Candidates should contact their local centre for further advice and guidance on suitability to undertake the qualification.
