For the Gas ACS scheme and for the OFTEC Oil scheme LCL Awards is accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) in accordance with the international standard BS EN ISO/IEC 17024. This is the standard for the "general requirements for bodies operating certification of persons" and deals with the competence of individuals rather than companies. UKAS are the only accreditation body recognised by UK government for accrediting businesses against BS EN ISO/IEC 17024.

UKAS also plays a central role in the accreditation for certification and registration bodies operating within the Microgeneration Certification Scheme and Competent Person Schemes.
