New electrical qualifications to open new doors!

Survey sparks good news for electrical contractors!

Well it’s good news if you’re in the electrical trade! A new survey from the Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA) has revealed that 79 per cent of contractors saw their turnover increase or remain steady in the third quarter of 2015.

Part P: a must for building services installers in 2016

Part P was introduced on January 1st 2005; a move by government to introduce electrical safety rules into Building Regulations for England and Wales, defining the minimum standards for electrical safety with a domestic premises.

 

 

New Wiring Regulation to protect end users from fire

On 1 January 2016, Regulation 421.1.201 (PROTECTION AGAINST FIRE CAUSED BY ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT) came into full effect in England.

The new regulation is one of a number of changes following the implementation of the Third Amendment to BS 7671: 2008, The IET Wiring Regulations. 

 

Think before you drill campaign promotes electrical cable safety

UK Power Networks is increasing its public service message by running a 'Think before you drill' initiative to raise awareness of the dangers of electricity, and importance of trades people locating cables before starting work.
