Colleges and training centres to remain open during lockdown
05 Nov 2020
As England heads into a second lockdown today (Thursday 5th November) for a what’s hoped will be no longer than a four-week period, we wanted to reassure you that LCL Awards training centres and colleges will not be closing and that pre-booked courses will be running as planned.
The Government has designated the education and the construction sectors as essential services, and is therefore encouraging them to carry on as usual, albeit with social distancing measures in place.
Travel to colleges and training centres is legitimate and students and learners are urged to continue with their studies.
On furlough? What about training?
Although no one on furlough is allowed to work, Government guidance states that training is acceptable.
Many workers across the country are feeling vulnerable at the moment, with swathes of jobs under threat due to the economic downturn. No one likes to think their working future is in doubt but if you’re on furlough this month, maybe this is the perfect opportunity to take a course that could put you in a stronger position – or maybe add another string to you bow.
Our range of training courses is broad and could set you up for an exciting future.
