Next week is Gas Safety Week, an initiative co-ordinated by Gas Safe Register to increases awareness of gas safety and highlight the importance of the regular maintenance of gas appliances.

During the week over 2.5K professional supporters will be encouraging the public to get their appliances safety checked at least once a year and to ensure that the engineer they use is Gas Safe Registered, by checking their ID card.

This year’s campaigns focus on keeping the most vulnerable groups in our society gas safe. Throughout the week the topics covered will include:

• children and gas safety
• gas safety advice for carers
• carbon monoxide awareness
• the work carried out by gas engineers.

What you can do

LCL Awards has already pledged support, but it’s not too late for your business to register support too. Doing so will enable you to access a toolkit which will help you spread the word. You’ll be able to access:

• gas safety tips and images
• articles for websites
• social media updates
• press releases for local news outlets
