The forthcoming JIB and ECS Training Provider Conference will be of interest to centres offering our electrical training qualifications. It’s taking place on Wednesday 18^th March at the NCC in Birmingham and aims to show how training providers and industry can work together in order to meet the future needs of learners and employers.

This year’s keynote speaker is Ruth Devine, who – as well as being MD of SJD Electrical – chairs the Electrotechnical Skills Partnership; is a member of the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education construction route panel; a member of the Construction Leadership Council’s Skills Work Stream, and a volunteer Enterprise Adviser for the Careers & Enterprise Company.

With her deep commitment to skills development, Ruth is excellently placed to look at how employers and the education network can work together to develop skills levels.

The day will also provide an opportunity to network with ECS and JIB staff and representatives from a number of key organisations – including LCL Awards - who will be there to offer valuable information about industry qualifications and training the next generation of electricians.
