Looking for an electrical Awarding Organisation you can rely on?
16 Feb 2021At LCL Awards, reliable and consistent service is one of our key areas of focus. We work hard to support both new and existing centres in delivering our qualifications and courses to their highest standards.
We understand that some AOs have encountered problems with an online assessment platform for electrical qualifications, we’d like to reassure all our centres that our assessment system is fully operational.
It’s business as usual!
LCL Awards’ wide-ranging electrical qualifications
The range of electrical courses we have developed over the years cover all bases, including several new qualifications designed to appeal to training centres with an eye on the future.
All our electrical qualifications are regularly reviewed and updated to bring them in-line with current legislation so you can be sure you are delivering the latest in training
Here’s just a selection of what we have to offer:
- LCL Awards’ Domestic Electrical Installer qualification is ideal for trades people such as gas installers and kitchen fitters, who need an understanding of the skills and regulations required to deal with electricity safely in relation to BS7671:2018 and amendment 1:2020 – when wiring in a boiler or cooker, for example.
- LCL Awards’ Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS7671:2018 is a regulated RQF qualification, designed for learners who need a full understanding of the 18thEdition of the Wiring Regulations. This qualification is of particular interest to operatives wishing to join some Electrical Registration Bodies, Competent Person Schemes or the Microgeneration Scheme.
- PAT testing qualification: LCL Awards’ Level 3 Award in the In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment has recently been updated to meet the new IET code of practice:
What’s new in electrical training?
- Last month we launched a new qualification Level 2 in electrical safety. This is for landlords, estate agents etc. who work within the private and social housing sectors. It has been designed to help them understand the particular requirements of electrical safety within the domestic environment
- Our Electric Vehicle qualification (Level 3), is aimed at practicing electricians. It covers the installation of dedicated conductive charging equipment for different types of electric vehicles as well as all associated inspection and testing procedures. The qualification complies with BS EN 61851 and the industry’s code of practice
We are about to launch a brand new qualification in battery storage. More news on this will follow soon.
Why work with LCL Award?
- Our customer service is second to none. Whenever you need us, we’re at the end of the phone with the expertise and support to help you.
- Our excellent assessment platform, XAMS is very stable and browser-based, so there’s no need to install a bulky system on your PCs or servers.
- We offer a speedy and efficient approvals process for centres already delivering building services qualifications, so we can have you up and running in no time.
- We are currently trialling a remote invigilation (proctoring) process, which will allow learners to take their (theory only) exams from home. This cuts down on hassle and travel and is also an efficient and reassuring way for learners to take their exams during lockdown.
If this all sounds interesting, please get in touch and we can arrange an online intro-meeting to tell you more about it.
