Withdrawal of C&G Level 3 Award in Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations
21 Jan 2021City & Guilds has decided to withdraw one of its plumbing qualifications - Level 3 in Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations and Water Byelaws in the UK. This will leave some training centres and colleges with a gap in water regulations training for plumbers. LCL Awards’ approved WRAS - Water Regulations training course can plug that gap.
Designed to meet industry standards, LCL Awards’ WRAS - Water Regulations Certificate is for plumbers with at least two year’s working experience, it covers:
- Interpretation and definitions
- Materials and substances
- Requirements, design and installation
- Backflow and contamination prevention
- Hot and cold water services
- Flushing devices
- Sanitary appliances; both internal and external
An essential qualification
A WRAS certificate covers Water Regulations (1999) and is a necessary requirement for qualified plumbers (minimum Level 2), looking to join their local water authority’s Water Industry Approved Plumbing Scheme or one of the plumbing Competent Persons Schemes (CPS) and/or Microgeneration Certification Schemes (MCS).
