We’re recruiting! External Verifier and Technical Specialist

LCL Awards is looking for External Verifiers (EVs) and Technical Specialists to help monitor and support our centres in meeting our quality criteria. We are one of the UK’s leading Awarding Organisations (AO), with a rapidly expanding centre portfolio and a raft of constantly updating qualifications designed to meet the needs of installers across the building services engineering sector.

There are currently a few positions available, covering centres in the North East, North West and South East (north of the River Thames). 

Suitable candidates must have experience in quality assurance and industry expertise, covering the qualifications we provide in gas, electrical, plumbing, F Gas, oil and renewable technologies.

Our EVs deliver guidance and support to approved centres, in order to ensure our qualifications are delivered to a high standard, in-line with regulatory requirements and LCL Awards procedures.

The ideal candidate:

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Are qualified to level 3 or equivalent in related building services disciplines.
  • Have relevant qualifications relating to quality assessments and monitoring.
  • Have experience working in the building services sector (normally a minimum of five years' post-qualification experience).
  • Have a detailed understanding of the certification, examination and assessment processes.
  • Have proficient computer literacy skills, including the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Powerpoint and Excel.
  • Are organised, flexible and self-motivated, with good time management skills.
  • Have proven team leadership skills.
  • Have good interpersonal skills and can communicate at all levels, with tact, discretion and diplomacy.
  • Embrace the principals of equality and diversity.

The role:

The successful candidates will:

  • Provide technical support to LCL Award centres and internal staff.
  • Attend and represent LCL Awards at external technical and committee meetings as required.
  • Carry out technical support visits to aspirant and approved centres.
  • Conduct External Quality Assurance (EQA) audits in accordance with the plan.
  • Conduct remote technical review and moderation of completed examinations and assessments.
  • Refer unresolved certification issues to the operations Director or Operations Manager where required.
  • Continually develop their own knowledge and expertise in areas vital to company growth.
  • Have a detailed understanding or LCL Awards’ qualifications and courses, including our new entrant, Managed Learning Progammes (MLP). Full training will be provided.
  • Meet any specific EV competence requirements (qualifications/experience) as detailed in the external verification strategy for the specific qualification.
  • Continually develop their own knowledge and expertise in areas vital to company growth.
