GTEC can take the heat out of setting up renewables training – come to the Forum to find out how!
24 May 2023
For the first time, the LCL Awards Forum is playing host to a number of exhibitors, who will be showcasing products and services that might be beneficial to your centre. In the run up to the event, which takes place on 30th June, we will be introducing these businesses.
First-up is fellow LCL Awards centre, GTEC, the renewables experts that can help other centres get their own 'green' training provision up and running.
Based in Yorkshire, the company has a growing network of locations throughout the country offering learners our renewables qualifications in solar pv, battery storage, heat pumps and more.
GTEC’s MD, Griff Thomas and his team will be at the Forum, ready with answers to your questions on delivering renewables training. GTEC can help LCL Awards centres get up and running quickly, by building and installing purpose-built training rigs for the practical element of our qualifications, as well as providing advice on correct course delivery - Griff has helped developed many of our renewables qualifications.
Join the renewables revolution!
Renewables are growing in popularity as people look for ways to reduce their carbon footprint and fuel bills. The Boiler Upgrade Scheme and rising electricity prices have stimulated demand for heat pumps and solar photovoltaic systems in particular.
With unrivalled experience in this sector, GTEC is well-placed to help other centres join the renewables revolution. This arrangement has been very beneficial for SELECT, Scotland’s trade association for the electrical contracting industry, which delivers training courses to more than 3,500 electricians a year.
Earlier this year SELECT asked GTEC to help them set up two of our Level 3 Awards in solar pv and electrical energy storage systems.
SELECT’s Training Manager, Jenny Cryans has been delighted by the response of the association’s members to the courses - and on the strength of two successful pilots, plans to roll out further training this summer:
“We spent a long time searching for the right solution for our members and judging from the feedback, LCL Awards and GTEC certainly seem to have ticked all the right boxes. As well as helping us in setting up the qualifications from start to finish, GTEC provided us with all the necessary equipment including the purpose-built rigs we need for the practical elements of the courses”
Mark Krull, LCL Awards Director, believes the arrangement with GTEC will benefit other LCL Awards training centres – helping them quickly and painlessly grab the opportunity to offer renewables training to a growing number of candidates:
“Griff was an advisor when we designed our renewables courses so he knows them inside out and is fully equipped to oversee their set-up in our approved centres. We’re all aware of a growing demand for renewables training and therefore pleased to be able to help more of our centres deliver our low carbon heating qualifications ”
