Survey sparks good news for electrical contractors!

Well it’s good news if you’re in the electrical trade! A new survey from the Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA) has revealed that 79 per cent of contractors saw their turnover increase or remain steady in the third quarter of 2015.

A new report published by independent energy company, Good Energy has found that renewables are cutting the wholesale price of energy and lessening the effects of subsidies on bill payers. A new report from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) states that skills shortages are contributing to a slowdown in the construction sector, which poses a ‘serious challenge’ not only to the industry but the economy as a whole. Government pulls the plug on Green Deal

Government has pulled the plug on its flagship Green Deal and Energy Companies Obligation (ECO) scheme to insulate homes having stopped funding of the firm set up to issue home improvement loans, blaming its demise on low consumer take-up.

 

Government u-turn on zero carbon homes policy

It is feared that up to two million extra tonnes of CO2 could be created each year following the government’s dramatic u-turn on its zero carbon targets for new homes.
