RHI hits 25,000 mark as home owners vote for green!

New statistics from the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) show that the UK’s Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) is now helping to warm 25,000 homes, as consumers wake-up to the benefits of installing renewable technologies, such as heat pumps, solar thermal, solar pv and biomass systems.

New gas safety course for insulation installers

Logic Certification has launched a Gas Awareness for Cavity Wall Installers Course, created in a bid to raise awareness of carbon monoxide (CO) safety, as the industry sees insulation work increase under the Green Deal and ECO schemes.

Good news for the RHI!

New statistics from the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) show that domestic RHI installations have smashed the 20,000 milestone, with some 6,244 new accreditations since April 2014 when the initiative was officially launched.

Gas safety for insulation and external cladding installers

Amendment 3 of 17th Edition Wiring Regulations sparks new electrical qualification!

Are you aware of the new amendments and changes to BS7671:2008 (2011) – 17th Edition Wiring Regulations? As a qualified electrical engineer, you need to be up-to-speed with your knowledge and training to comply with legislation set to come into force on 1st July 2015.

 

We have introduced a new, 17th Edition ‘update’ course for electrical engineers to cover the requirements and legislation of Amendment 3. The qualification provides a time-efficient option for operatives who need to demonstrate their knowledge of Amendment 3, without repeating the up-to-date elements of the 17th Edition Wiring Regulations.

Lack of Part P enforcement puts lives at risk

Trade association NAPIT has called for the government and industry to ensure action is taken to improve electrical safety in homes, following a damning report by the Electrical Safety Roundtable (ESR), which revealed poor enforcement of Part P of the Building Regulations across the UK’s local authorities.

New Heat Metering Qualification for RHI Installers

Logic Certification has introduced a new course for installers working on Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) installations where heat metering is required. The new QCF Level 2 Award in the Principles of Metering for Renewable Heat Installations covers the knowledge and understanding needed to select, position, install and commission heat meters and their associated components.
