So, the age of the smart meter is here! With the country mid-way through the roll-out, it can only be a positive thing that, for the first time, consumers can see exactly how much energy they are using, resulting in them making better choices and, ultimately, saving money. Bills will be more accurate and there will be no more unwelcome knocks on the door to read your meter as the unit itself will transmit regular and exact readings automatically.
Purchase protection for small businesses
Many Logic Certification customers are also small business owners, for whom cash flow, particularly when it comes to purchasing goods in advance of payment, can be an issue. To help combat gaps in payment protection, the government is asking small and micro-businesses to share their experiences and views on this problem in order to identify any gaps in protection and possible solutions.

UK businesses have joined forces to urge the government to address climate change and building a low-carbon Britain by writing an open letter to the prime minister, which was published in the Financial Times on 10th June.

Solar PV could be on the up!
The deployment of solar pv technology is top priority for the UK’s new Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, with hopes of “unleashing a new solar revolution” on the cards.
Commenting on her new role, Amber Rudd, said: “We have a million people living under roofs with solar panels and that number needs to increase.” This figure relates to the number of households who have installed solar pv under the feed-in-tariff which proved popular under the previous coalition who favoured solar pv deployment on the UK’s rooftops.

With all 650 seats now declared, David Cameron has returned to Downing Street after the Tories secured a majority. The Conservatives have landed 331 seats in the House of Commons (24 more than in 2010), Labour have 232, the Lib Dems have 8, the SNP 56, Plaid Cymru 3, UKIP 1, the Green Party 1, and others 19.
