As a consequence of BREXIT, F-gas certificates issued by UK certification bodies are no longer recognised in EU member states, but thanks to an initiative set up by the Irish Republic, there’s hope for certified operatives who would like to work both in the Ireland and in the EU.

Gas Safe Register is instigating new policy on checking G3 qualifications (also known as an Unvented Hot Water qualifications)

George Louden, a key figure in the Scotland’s gas training sector and managing director of LCL Award’s centre, Gas Certification Company, turns seventy at the end of this week.

The Renewable Heat Installer Training & Support Scheme (RHITSS) has now launched, which offers installers up to 70% off the training and associated certification required to become a heat pump or solar thermal engineer.

LCL Awards is one of the Awarding Organisations approved to provide qualifications under this scheme - a great opportunity for our centres.

We are about to launch a new qualification in the installation of Electrical Energy Storage Systems (EESS), ideal for installers working on properties which generate electricity through renewable means; such as solar photovoltaics (PV) and wind power.

At LCL Awards reliable and consistent service is one of our key areas of focus. We work hard to support both new and existing centres in delivering our qualifications and courses to their highest standards.

We understand that some AOs have encountered problems with an online assessment platform for electrical qualifications, we’d like to reassure all our centres that our assessment system is fully operational. 

City & Guilds has decided to withdraw one of its plumbing qualifications. This will leave some training centres and colleges with a gap in water regulations training for plumbers. LCL Awards’ approved WRAS - Water Regulations training course can plug that gap.

We have launched a new electrical qualification! It’s designed for landlords, estate agents and other responsible parties who work within the private and social housing sectors, to help them understand the particular requirements of electrical safety within the domestic environment.
